Sweet Surrender

Here is another video from the LEMA service of a medley we did for prelude.  The songs are Without You and Yearn, both by Shane and Shane.

Here’s a clip of us singing At the Cross during yesterday’s LEMA service for fallen officers.

Move - rough draft #1

This song is called Move, and is pretty much my first effort at songwriting.  This was written in a time when my wife and I were adopting our second child, and I was throwing an emotional/spiritual temper tantrum at God about prayers not being answered my way.

At that time I heard a great sermon about how God certainly hears us out and feels our pain during those tough times, but our cries and anger don’t upset Him or get Him to change his mind.  At some point, we are the ones that need to decide to pick up and press forward with faith.

The tune is just verse 1 and chorus right now, but v2 and bridge are in the works.

Lyrics:

I can scream at you until my voice gives out
I can cry all night until my tears run dry
But you won’t move
You won’t move

My tears won’t break you down
But you catch every one
My words won’t shake your throne
No you won’t come undone
You won’t move
You won’t move

So will you hold me
Jesus hold me
Until I’m ready to move
Until I’m ready to move

Will you hold me
Jesus hold me
Until I’m ready to move
Until I’m ready to move with You

This is our performance of With or Without You from the semi-finals round of the Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent Contest.  This round took place at the Leinie Lodge Bandshell on Saturday, September 3 at 6 p.m.  We ended up winning our division that night and getting to sing at the finals the next night.  We didn’t place, but were real happy with the performance and blessed by God to have the opportunity!

Teresa and I sing Remember Me (by Mark Schultz) for a baptism

Teresa and I sang the wonderful Mark Schultz tune, Remember Me, for my son’s baptism. It’s funny because we saw Mark Schultz live in concert the night before, and he closed with this song. So awesome to see it that night and then sing it the next morning!
